Puzzle General Presents: First Ever Dr. Mario Speedrunning Tournament!
One of the oldest puzzle games around, Dr. Mario has its time to shine as the next tournament in our series. Dr. Mario is a very easy game to learn and the tournament is open for competitors of all skills!
To sign up, you will need a Challonge account and a SpeedRunsLive account. Signups will be hosted on this page until the end of August 21. Races will be done through SpeedRunsLive. SRL is a great platform that provides consistent results and even starting times. Streaming will be required. If any disputes happen, you can contact one of the TOs. EMULATOR IS ALLOWED! We know not everyone will own the game or console, so we want to make it open to anyone. Emulator link below if you do not have one.
Seeding will be determined by leaderboards on speedrun.com or SRL and by opinions on community members. Currently there is not a 0-10 category, but contact Bbforky if there is a time you want to present for it.
There are no streaming details now, but will announce if we get restreamers. If you would like to restream or commentate, contact Bbforky on the discord or Twitter.

Start Date- August 22nd
Game- Dr. Mario (SNES)
Categories- 0-10 (Round Robin), 0-20 (Single Elim)
Best 2 out of 3 for Round Robin, Best of 1 for Single Elimination
Report all times in Discord or to Bbforky
Top 2 of each pool will qualify for bracket.
24 or less entrants: 4 pools
25-36: 6 pools
37-48: 8 pools
49+: 12 pools
Tournament Schedule
Round Robin: Aug 22-Sept 18
Single Elim: Sept 19- Oct 8
Round Robin will last 4 weeks, which gives you plenty of time to finish all your matches. The general idea is to finish one match a week, but you can play at any pace. The last day to complete your pool matches will be September 18. Bracket will start on the 19th and you will receive a week to play each match. Top 4 may be streamed on the same day when we get more details.
